International Day for Protection of Children : Preserve Child Rights

Image
The International Day for Protection of Children is observed globally every year on June 1 since 1949.  The observance serves as an urgent reminder to protect children's fundamental rights, secure their access to education, and eliminate threats like child labour, trafficking, and violence. Child protection: A poem Little hands, so soft and new, Need our care, in all they do. A child's trust, a fragile thing, Love and safety, we must bring. No one should take their joy away, Or make them fear another day. Every child, a precious light, Deserves to sleep at peaceful night. So let us stand, with hearts so true, For every child, me and you. To keep them safe, and help them grow, It's our shared promise, to let them know. Their future bright, a hopeful sign, The duty to protect, is truly mine.

End Social Bias and Inequity: Couplets

Image
End Social Bias and Inequity: Couplets   A world divided, unfair and bleak, Where one is valued, the other weak. Roles assigned by birth, a cruel decree, Limiting lives for all to see. Some doors are locked, some paths are barred, By gender's shade, a life is marred. Favoritism reigns, a heavy hand, Denying worth across the land. Status and chances, unequally sown, A gender imbalance, widely known. But change we seek, a brighter aim, To burn this unfair system's flame. A vision clear, a future sought, Where equal measure is dearly bought. Our purpose stated, strong and true, A world for all, in all we do. This is our goal, our destined space, Equality's dawn, with honest grace.

Lifeless matter and life or consciousness co-exist eternally: A poem

Image
Lifeless matter and life or consciousness co-exist eternally: A poem   The universe, a dance of light and thought, Where energy and awareness intertwine. From dense-packed matter, energy is wrought, As physics hints at truths that now align. In varied forms, this energy takes hold, And matter speaks its energetic phrase. If consciousness, a story to be told, Began with all, in ancient cosmic haze. Then thought and feeling, love and memory’s art, The sense of ‘I,’ and ‘cosmos’ vast design, Were present from the universe’s start, As lifeless dust and life forever shine. They co-exist, a timeless, unified, Eternal stream, where all things are allied.

Equanimity amid dualities creates blissful life:A poem inspired by the Gita’s life lesson

Image
Equanimity amid dualities creates blissful life: A poem inspired by the Gita’s life lesson   Life flows a river, ever changing its tide, With joy and sorrow, ebb and then the swell. Kind words like sunbeams, sharp ones softly hide, Each passing moment, stories it does tell.   Let not the highs lift up your spirit's flight, Nor low's dark shadow dim your inner light. Embrace them both, with steady, equal gaze, As moments born to fleeting, passing days.   With steady mind, a balanced inner sight, We walk the path of duty, clear and true. Then skill in work and peace burn ever bright, A tranquil spirit, seeing all things through.   So, find the calm in all that life may send, And inner peace shall be your truest friend.

Bhagavad Gita's timeless life lesson of mastery over mind: A poem

Image
Bhagavad Gita's timeless life lesson of mastery over mind: A poem The mind, tells Gita, a friend, a foe we know, Unchecked, it wreaks a havoc in our breast. Like wild horses, it will swiftly go, Leaving us in turmoil, finding no rest. But calm it down, with steady gaze and thought, Through discipline, a quiet path we find. With mindful steps, the battles we have fought, Begin to cease, leaving peace behind. Through meditation, stillness we embrace, A gentle strength, a spirit calm and bold. Emotions soften, finding their true place, A story of resilience to be told. So train your mind, its power to control, And find true peace within your very sou

Bane of specialization and boon of holistic learning: A Poem

Image
Bane of specialization and boon of holistic learning: A Poem When fields get so narrow and deep, Your thoughts start to slumber and sleep. With one single view, And biases true, Your knowledge, it's hard now to keep. But learning both wide and so grand, Lets visions expand through the land. With minds open wide, And nothing to hide, True wisdom you'll surely command. Kishore's (2026) poem contrasts the limitations of narrow specialization with the advantages of integrated, whole-brain education. It emphasizes that holistic learning fosters spiritual and emotional intelligence by bridging the sciences with the arts. Reference  Kishore, L. (2026,. May 30).. FLOP EXAM SYSTEM'S FLOP ON-SCREEM-MARKING

Image
FLOP EXAM SYSTEM'S FLOP ON-SCREEM-MARKING The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) introduced On-Screen Marking - OSM. - a digital evaluation system where physical answer books are scanned and evaluated by teachers on computers instead of checking paper booklets manually. It was touted that OSM will improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in public exams However, the students and parents raised concerns over discrepancies and unexpected low marks in subjects like Physics and Mathematics. All kinds of glitches were revealed during the re-evaluation and verification processes. TWO LIMERICKS 1. WHAT WAS TOUTED The old ways were messy and slow, Where students' worries would grow. But OSM's design, Makes results align, And truth in each score will flow. 2. WHAT HAPPENED With OSM, marks no more true, Lots of confusion for me and you. Physics, math's fright, Now shine ever bright, And glitches all the more in view.

Detached Action Precept of the Gita: A Quintain and a citation

Image
Here is a quintain (a five-line poem) capturing the essence of the Gita's teachings on detachment and modern well-being through 'Nishkam Karma' Precept: Quintain Amidst the noise of modern strain, When outcomes fuel an anxious heart, We learn to let the fruits remain, And master true detachment's art; In mindful effort, peace we gain. THE GITA VERSE “कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्तेमाफलेषुकदाचन। माकर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मातेसङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥” (Bhagavad Gita 2.47) citations Detached action teaching of the Gita resonates with modern stress management, mindfulness, and positive psychology frameworks. In an era of high professional burnout, academic competition, and global mental health crises, the Gita’s principle of detachment provides a pathway to resilience and balance. It encourages individuals to focus on effort and process rather than outcomes, reducing anxiety and fostering psychological well-being — values deeply relevant to health professionals, educators, and global organizations...

Acceptance and meditative self-awareness set us free: A poem

Image
Acceptance and meditative self-awareness set us free: A poem Through clear, witness acceptance, all strife ends, We stop futile fight 'n let the struggling cease; The energy for healing now descends, And right-directed action brings us peace. Meditate to create a sacred grace, Still fleeting mind and let the silence fall, And in that quiet, meditative space, We hear the constant noise that dims us all. We see how thoughts can stir an angry sea, Yet from these patterns we can step apart; From fear and insecurity set free, A quiet distance anchors in the heart. This deep awareness stills the rushing tide, And leaves us freedom where we once had cried

The World Observe the Amnesty International Day

Image
Amnesty International Day is celebrated every year on May 28, commemorating the founding of the organization in 1961. This global movement aims to shed light on human rights issues around the world, promote gender justice, and organize the yearly "Write for Rights" campaign. On this day, a detailed annual report is released, documenting human rights violations, abuses of power, and government hostility in different regions. The Write for Rights campaign encourages millions to write letters, sign petitions, and take direct action for those facing human rights violations. You can also get involved by supporting the cause through advocacy, raising awareness, and education. While Amnesty International is not officially banned in India, the organization was unfortunately compelled to stop all its human rights activities in the country in September 2020 after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) froze its bank accounts. This crackdown and the subsequent halt of operations stem from sev...

Teaching to Evoke Love for Self-Referenced Learning: A Poem

Image
Teaching to Evoke Love for Self-Referenced Learning: A Poem Let children have the joy of learning's grace, And teach to evoke love for all they see. No rivalry with anyone for first place, Just self-referenced learners, true and free. No comparing, no competition with others, Learning for learning’s own worth they pursue. No jealousy among these striving learners, As self-constructors of the world anew. To excel in learning is the only prize, For the joy of creating knowledge pure. Be a self-learner, watch the mind arise, In building wisdom that will long endure. Thus every student seeks to comprehend, Just excelling in the self-learning, to no end.

Self-Awareness and Self-Reflection are Keys To Sorrows-Free LiFe: A Poem

Image
Self-Awareness and Self-Reflection are Keys To Sorrows-Free LiFe: A Poem In twilight's hush, where shadows dance and play, Life's lessons echo, night and endless day. Desires, like embers, smolder and ignite, Sorrows, like autumn leaves, rustle and take flight. As we awaken to the heart's deep pain, Self-reflection's mirror shows us the stain. The root of sorrow, like a hidden stream, Must be uncovered, lest the cycle repeat and beam. In different forms, the same patterns will arise, Like a phoenix born, with fiery, sorrowful eyes. If we fail to see, to hear and to know, The lessons will repeat, in a never-ending show. The darkness of ignorance will shroud our sight, And we'll stumble forward, lost in the endless night. But when we face the truth, with a heart full of cheer, The patterns will break, and a new dawn will appear. So let us learn, and let us heed the call, To understand the root of our sorrow's fall. For in self-awareness, we'll find the key, T...

Accept deluding outer and transcend: A poem

Image
Accept deluding  outer and transcend: A Jainism-Inspired poem In Jainism, "acceptance" encompasses two primary concepts, namely Anumodana (joyful approval of the world of diversity and delusion) and Anekantavada (the philosophical acceptance of multiple perspectives). Rather than a strict precept of command and prescription, it is practiced as a spiritual tool for acquiring merit of inner peace and resolving dogmatic conflicts. INSPIRED POEM The world outside, a deluding, transient thing, It will not bend to wishes whispered low. No matter how your weary spirit sings, Its paths are set, its currents strongly flow. To fight its form, a battle lost before, A weary war that drains the very soul. But to accept it, open up the door, To see it plain, and make your spirit whole. The victim's role begins to fade and cease, The seeker's gaze now scans the present scene. A quiet calm, a growing inner peace, As reactive storms no longer intervene. Your self, unbound, in newfound...

Don't cling too hard, nor flee ahead from extremes. Be neutral witness, says Sage Ashtavakra

Image
The wise sage Ashtavakra encourages us to look beyond the illusion of opposites. He emphasizes that suffering originates from the extremes of attachment (craving) and aversion (repulsion). Genuine wisdom lies in transcending these dualities.  "Both those who seek pleasure and those who seek liberation remain trapped in samsara [the cycle of suffering], yet the truly great-souled individual who desires neither pleasure nor liberation is exceptionally rare" (Ashtavakra Gita, Chapter XVII, Verse 4). A Quintain on Illusion of Extremes Sage Ashtavakra, wise and bright, Said, "Shun extremes with all your might, Not too much love, nor hate's cruel sting, Just witness world, no song to sing, And float along in peaceful light."

The Buddha's Message of Saga Dawa: A Poem

Image
The Buddha's Message of Saga Dawa: A Poem The fleshly wants, the senses' fleeting plea, The mind that craves what cannot ever last, These are the roots of all our misery, The chains that bind us, holding us held fast. Forget the tales of realms beyond the sky, The soul's ascent, the divine's grand design, The holy books, the prayers that we might cry, And rites that promise blessings to align. Turn inward now, where true battle is fought, To cleanse mind of evils and selfish need. Let these desires be thoroughly uncaught, And sow instead the pure and gentle seed. For when the mind is free from craving's hold, Then peace will bloom, human life to unfold!

MINDFULNESS PRECEPT OF BUDDHISM: VIEW POINT AND POEM

Image
MINDFULNESS: THE BUDDHIST POINT VIEW Mindfulness in Buddhism involves grounding your awareness in the present moment to foster wisdom, cleanse the mind, and alleviate suffering. It requires being conscious of your mental states, thoughts, and emotions without judgment or attachment. Mindfulness emerges when you develop equanimity. To transition from a restless mind to a calm one, begin with the following tasks and master them. Fully engage in whatever activity you are doing—whether it's eating, walking, or sitting—without hurrying. Concentrate on your natural breathing to stabilize your mind and prevent it from drifting. POEM ON MIND PURIFICATION TO GAIN MINDFULNESS The mind, like soil, can get a bit messy, With evils, fears, and thoughts that are pressy. But just like soil, it has cleansing part, Ready to heal, to make a new start. Be mindful, watch what you let inside, Good seeds of kindness, let them abide. Pull out weeds of anger, lust and doubt, Let peace and calm begin to s...

Use Not Proverbs That Resonate Not with the Power of Gen-Z

Image
A fresh phrase, 'call youth cockroaches and flit them dead', i s in vogue as a variation of the popular proverb, "Give a dog a bad name and hang him". This expression implies that when you conspire to tarnish someone's reputation, regardless of how unwarranted it may be, society will persist in treating them poorly and will invariably hold negative assumptions about them. However, circumstances have evolved; do not underestimate the influence of the youth in the digital era. Remember, when Gen-Z rises, regimes flee. A Limerick To call youth "cockroach," a spiteful decree, Then "hack them out," and "block them," you see, Is a cruel, old game, Ignorance their name, But Gen-Z's rise will  make rulers flee.

Uniformity and Similarity are Curse: A short Note and Limericks

Image
Uniformity and similarity are curse: A short Note Imagine a world where everyone looked the same- thought, and acted the exact same way. Such forced uniformity and similarity erase individuality, creativity, and progress. It creates a stagnant, uninspiring environment. In contrast, respect for diversity is a true boon. Just like a beautiful garden needs different flowers to thrive, society flourishes when we celebrate our unique backgrounds, ideas, and cultures. Diversity sparks innovation, teaches empathy, and builds resilient, harmonious communities. Always cherish and respect the differences that make each of us special. Two limericks on Unity in Diversity The world, a drab and boring scene, Where sameness made all things lean. But differences, a treasure, Bring joy beyond all measure, In varied hues, life's truly keen. When one accepts, and shares, and cares, And opens doors with loving airs, Then folks from every land, Can walk with hand-in-hand, And all our burdens, no one be...

Yes, I Am a Resilient and Change Maker Cockroach

Image
Yes, I Am a Resilient and Change Maker Cockroach The humble roach, in shadowed corners known, Now scuttles forth, a banner held on high. Gen Z has claimed it, strength it has outgrown The fear, the scorn, beneath a watchful eye. They’ll bend, not break, adapt to any plight, And in their numbers, seek a better way. "Secular, Socialist, Democratic, Lazy," they cry, A jibe at those who’d steal their present day. From viral screens, a digital command, Frustration’s fire, with memes and sharpest wit. GEN Z COUPLETS

Image
GEN Z COUPLETS We, the young, the now, the bright, Born to screens, bathed in digital light. Skills Gen Z wield,  vibrant flow, But seeds of doubt begin to grow. Elections whisper, promises gleam, A tangled, twisted, broken dream. Deceitful shadows, power's cold hand, Oppression's grip across the land. Democracy's name, a hollow sound, Rights we cherish, nowhere found. Human dignity, a fading hue, Constitution's laws, no longer true. We see the cracks, the system's strain, A future built on loss and pain. Our talents bloom, but in a fray, Where trust is lost and rights betray. We're Gen Z, with futures bright, But broken promises dim our light. Electoral games, a twisted snare, Leave our hopes lost in despair. Deceitful hands, oppression's sting, No respect for rights, our voices ring. Democracy's dream, a fading gleam, Humanity's worth, a broken stream. Esteemed Gen Z, with talents bright, But elections, they betray our light. Deceitful systems, p...

Expectation of Gen Z from the System: A Poem

Image
Expectation of Gen Z from the System: A Poem A Gen Z plea, a hopeful start, For systems built with open heart. No more the old, the closed-off way, But bright inclusion, come what may. Let fairness lead, let kindness bloom, And mend the planet, chase the gloom. These are the hopes, the simple creed, For all to flourish, plant the seed. Success now wears a different face, Not just the climb, the hurried pace. But time for peace, for breath, for soul, Where mental health makes spirits whole. Where values weave through every thread, And purpose lights the path ahead. In new economies, a different call, For sharing, caring, standing tall. Let honesty be the steady light, And fairness shine, both day and night. We'll build together, hand in hand, A better future, for this land.

On being rational thinker: Limericks

Image
LIMERICKS  Beware of the man who says that he knows, Who says what's best for you, dictates how it goes. Rather discover 'why,' Question and verify, Say the wise, as the wind of truth blows. ~*~ A hoodwinker's belief, a cunning plea, To keep you bound, from being free. The wise said, "Beware! Question, seek, and dare, Discover truth, don't just agree!

The Truth is Realised by Pure and Still Mind: A Poem

Image
The Truth is Realised by Pure and Still Mind: A Poem Brahman, the One True Light, Made all that is, day and night. Knowing Brahman, freedom's door, Life's true aim, and nothing more. Beyond the thoughts, the busy head, Where mind and reason no more tread, A deeper Truth, so very fine, Vast and full, in all that shines. To realize Truth, pure-n-still mind's grace, A quietude, in time and space. When thoughts are calm, evils all gone, Brahman realized, the perfect dawn.

MIND YOUR MIND: A POEM

Image
MIND YOUR MIND: A POEM A thinking thing, the mind, Not dark, not bright, defined. It is, it is, no more, Just opens up the door. But when it loops and spins, On things that never wins, On touch and taste and sight, It fills the world with fight. This grasping, earthly way, Makes dark the brightest day. It ties us, holds us fast, A shadow meant to last. But if it clears and gleams, Like quiet, starlit streams, It shows a gentle path, Away from all the wrath. This truth for thoughts we keep, For wisdom buried deep. The mind, the thinking art, Can heal or tear apart.
