 Today's National Technology Day, May 11: Quintains on Special Days

On days meant for true reform's decree,

A show of "caring," for all eyes to see.

With flags and with flair,

A token affair,

While problems stay stuck, as they used to be.

A day for cause, once pure and bright,

Now wears a sponsor's shiny light.

With logos grand,

And selling planned,

Good works are just a brand, alright.

Some days are made to cheer,

But the powers that be hold dear.

They're slick and they're neat,

For profits they meet,

And what's truly meant disappears.
