A leader, "Nation First!" he cried,

Demanded sacrifices and pride.

While tight grip he did seize,

Crushing freedoms with ease,

Liberties nowhere to hide.

The ruler, with threat in his eye,

Cried, "Danger! We're doomed if we try

To think on our own!

Give freedoms we've known,

For safety, so you won't ask why!"

The grand King cried, "Danger is near!"

To make dissent sound like pure fear.

"For unity's sake,

Great sacrifice you'll make!"

Then silenced all the dissent, it's clear.
