ODE TO SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH
A young man stood with steady eyes,
Beneath the heavy, British skies.
He looked at us, the rising youth,
And asked us to pursue the truth.
He said, "Do not just nod and take
The rules of old for custom's sake.
Be bold, critique, and always ask
To tear away each hidden mask."
A rebel's mind must dare to think,
Before it lets the system sink.
With reason as your guiding light,
You pierce the darkness of the night.
He spoke of science, clear and wide,
Where superstition steps aside.
He called for hearts of human grace,
To find a purpose for our race.
"Look not to gods for what is right,"
He urged us in the morning light.
"Find meaning in your fellow man,
And help humanity's frail clan."
True freedom is no easy prize,
It will not fall from quiet skies.
It asks for struggle, fierce and deep,
While others turn away and sleep.
For justice, equity, and fair
Demands that we prepare, and dare
To break the chains, both old and new,
And build a better world anew.
