Harmony in Action: Celebrating International Peace and Love Day

 


In 2026, the International Peace and Love Day falls on Tuesday, July 7. The observance, established in 2021 by Gary Astridge,, aims at to promote global harmony. However, at the local level, the observance encourages individuals to stop at noon, in their local time zone, to wish peace and love to those around them and spread positive energy.

Ode to Peace and Love

O Peace, you wipe the tears away,
And chase our daily fears away.
No angry fights, no weapons drawn,
Just understanding like the dawn.

And Love, O Love, a silver thread,
Where kindness blooms and hate has fled.
You find the good in everyone,
And warm us like the morning sun.

Together, you both brightly glow,
The truest team we'll ever know.
The greatest gifts we hold so true,
Dear Peace and Love, we honour you.
