Revealing Tree Metaphor of the Bhagavad Gita: Couplets

Revealing Tree Metaphor of the Bhagavad Gita: Couplets

A sacred book, the Gita we hold dear,
With trees, a special bond becomes quite clear.

The Ashvattha tree, a story it does tell,
Where Krishna spoke, a place where spirits dwell.

Its roots reach up, and down they also go,
Like worldly life, a cycle we all know.

We see the leaves, the things that catch the eye,
But miss the roots, the reason we are nigh.

In worldly wants, our hearts become so bound,
By earthly pleasures, on illusion's ground.

To find true peace, to break this binding chain,
Detachment's tool, the branches we must gain.

And seek the roots, where true divinity lies,
The Supreme Divine, beneath the spiritual skies
