International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations: A Short Note and a Poem

Short Note

Today, June 10, we celebrate the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations, which was announced by the United Nations. This day is all about encouraging understanding between different cultures, showing respect for one another, and building a sense of unity in our divided world. It highlights how important it is to have conversations that support peace, protect human rights for everyone, and help with sustainable development.

To create peace, we need to support open and respectful talks between countries to solve problems and deal with global issues. We should celebrate the amazing variety of cultures around the world and recognize the important roles that different civilizations have played in history. Global solidarity means standing up against discrimination and promoting inclusiveness through learning from each other.

Importance of inter-cultural dialogue: A poem

Words can build a bridge so wide,
Between cultures, side by side.
When we talk with open hearts,
Mending breaks, playing our parts.

Every culture, bright and bold,
Stories waiting to be told.
Ancient wisdom, new ideas,
Wipe away the silent tears.

Different ways, a vibrant show,
Helping all the world to grow.
History's lessons, we embrace,
Finding common time and space.
