Arc of the Divine: The Rainbow's Sacred Vedic Path

Arc of the Divine: The Rainbow's Sacred Vedic Path
 A spiritual poem

A celestial bow, a vibrant arc appears,
Indradhanush, a sign from heavens high.
The deity of rain, dispelling fears,
A bridge to worlds where spirits softly lie.

Sun's golden warmth, with waters from above,
A gentle dance, a harmony profound.
The universe's balance, sung with love,
Where earth and sky in unity are found.

Its seven hues, a path for us to climb,
Each color bright, a chakra's gentle glow.
From root to crown, transcending earthly time,
To higher thought, where pure awareness grows.

So see the bow, a sacred, mystic sign,
Connecting soul to realms that are divine.

Kishore (n.d.) pairs a 5-7-5 syllable poem, hiaku, with a visual to capture a contemplative moment of nature and emphasize concise imagery to reflect on the beauty of a rainbow against the sky.

Citation 2

According to Kishore (2026), in Vedic traditions, the rainbow is symbolically honoured as Indradhanush, which connects to the god of rain and thunder. It is seen as a heavenly arc that signifies the link between the physical and spiritual worlds. The rainbow also illustrates the fragile balance of the universe, particularly the collaboration between Surya, the Sun, and Varuna, the rain. Additionally, Vedic and Yogic writings associate its seven colours with the chakras—the spiritual energy centers of the body—serving as a route for the soul's journey toward elevated consciousness.
