ODE TO NANA PATEKAR (1 January 1951 – 8 October 2026)
(1 January 1951 – 8 October 2026)
Nana Patekar of silver screen,
A face that told of all he’d seen.
Not for the fame or loud applause,
He worked for truth and higher cause.
"To give out joy and cause no pain,"
He spoke, and walked a quiet lane.
He found the spirit in the heart,
Apart from religion, set apart.
He painted canvas, played the keys,
And found his peace in mountain breeze.
In kitchens where the flavours blend,
He learnt to be a better friend.
The script was just a place to grow,
A path to see and truly know.
He did not ask for public praise,
Or sought the light in crowded ways.
He looked within to find the flaw,
And lived his life by inner law.
Each day a chance to mend the soul,
To make the broken spirit whole.
His work was deep, his life was wide,
With nothing left for him to hide.
A soulful man, a thinking mind,
He's left a gentle path behind.
