Remembering Meera Bai's Divine Love on Her Jayanti

In North India, especially in Rajasthan, Meera Bai Jayanti was recently observed on October 26, 2026, coinciding with the Hindu lunar calendar festival of Sharad Purnima. Event s were held in which her devotional songs and poems as her divine love for Girdhar Gopal were recited,

She was remembered for her devotional poetry that continues to be revered since it expresses the timeless beauty of faith, devotion, and divinel love for Lord Krishna.

Meera Bai (c. 1498 – c. 1546), a 16th-century Rajput princess and Bhakti saint, who  represents the pinnacle of Madhurya Bhava—loving Lord Krishna with the intimate, passionate devotion of a wife and lover rather than a distant deity.

Here is an inspired poem describing her devotion to her eternal divine lover lord Krishna.

Giridhar Gopal is Meera's only prize,
Beyond this world, no other soul she sees.
The dusty paths of ritual she despises,
For only He can set her spirit free.

With dancing feet and heart in joyful song,
She broke the chains of every earthly law,
To God alone her deepest prayers belong,
The source of all the light she ever saw.

No mortal king could claim her humble hand,
She was the bride of Shyam, the Lord of Grace,
The only constant in this shifting land,
She lose her ego in Lord's soft embrace.

In blissful faith, she wore the golden ring,
Of eternal love, to Lord alone she would cling.
