Dussehra Insights for Rulers: The Wisdom of Mighty King Ravana's Farewell

Dussehra Insights for Rulers: The Wisdom of King Ravana's Farewell
The arrow struck, the kingdom fell,
The king of Lanka drew a breath.
He lay upon the burning sands,
To meet the quiet gaze of death.
Lakshmana stood beside the King,
A student near a falling star,
To hear the secrets of a soul
That carried every jagged scar.
"My nine heads fed on hungry greed,
On pride, on wrath, and bitter lust,
But one held music, stars, and hymns,
Now turning slowly into dust."
"I was a devotee of light,
A scholar versed in ancient lore,
Yet built my throne on stolen joy,
And locked away the wisdom's door."
He spoke of sins he kept close by,
Of moments lost to dark delay,
"I rushed to do the wicked deed,
But put the noble acts away."
"I had the boons, I had the might,
I thought no hand could end my reign,
But never scorn an enemy,
For strength can turn to sudden pain."
"And know this truth," he whispered low,
"Keep inner secrets locked from view,
My brother knew the spot of death,
And told the secret I once knew."
For all his books and Shiva’s grace,
And all the power he held in hand,
His ego was a heavy weight
That could not let his spirit stand.
"The greatest mind is but a tool,
If pride remains the master’s guide."
The tenth head bowed, the scholar slept,
And wisdom breathed the day he died.
