International Day for Protection of Children : Preserve Child Rights


 The International Day for Protection of Children is observed globally every year on June 1 since 1949.  The observance serves as an urgent reminder to protect children's fundamental rights, secure their access to education, and eliminate threats like child labour, trafficking, and violence.

Child protection: A poem

Little hands, so soft and new,
Need our care, in all they do.
A child's trust, a fragile thing,
Love and safety, we must bring.

No one should take their joy away,
Or make them fear another day.
Every child, a precious light,
Deserves to sleep at peaceful night.

So let us stand, with hearts so true,
For every child, me and you.
To keep them safe, and help them grow,
It's our shared promise, to let them know.

Their future bright, a hopeful sign,
The duty to protect, is truly mine.
