Reaction to Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026: A Poem
(Based on Social Media Statements)

Gender Law shifts, a hash hand,
Self-choice undone, across the land.
A board decides, at life's first breath,
Male, female, othered even in death,

Your body's story, yours to claim,
Not theirs to judge, not theirs to name.
Patriarchy's shadow, long and deep,
Denying rights that  one should keep.

Let voices rise, a chorus strong,
To right this wrong, where it's gone wrong.
Reclaim the power, the simple plea,
'My body's mine, and mine to be.'
