Overcoming Death's Dread by Rising Again: An Easter Poem
Overcoming Death's Dread by Rising Again: An Easter Poem
Be gentle, low, and pure of heart,
Dying to the past, a brand new start.
Our wrongs and failings, dark and deep,
He bore them all, so we could leap.
He rose again, a light so bright,
Let's remake ourselves, with all our might.
Cleanse your mind, from shadows deep,
Pray, fast, reflect, your promise keep.
Cleanse your senses, and what you crave,
From greed and rage, the power save.
From laziness and mournful sighs,
From showing off, and haughty lies.
Be loving, no strings tied,
Let resurrection be your guide.
Let Christ within, now brightly shine,
A new you born, truly divine.
Live simply, let your spirit soar,
Reflect in silence, evermore.
Be loving, no strings tied,
A brand new you, with grace inside.
