LONGING LOVE AND SURRENDER: A POEM INSPIRED BY BHAKTI POET SURDAS

The Longing Love and Surrender Path to Liberation is a poem inspired by Sur Sagar by Sant Surdas on the Occasion of his Jayanti in 2026 (see inset visual)

POEM: LONGING LOVE AND SURRENDER

No temple bells nor sacred script required,
Nor clever words of academic lore,
By Prem Bhakti is the heart inspired,
To knock upon the deep, eternal door.

No caste restricts the path to Shyam’s own side,
A simple love is all He asks to see,
With soul surrendered and all earthly pride
Dispelled, to find Him in complete unity.

A detached longing, passionate and sweet,
With world and ego rendered fully still,
‘I offer all at Madhava’s lotus feet,
And lose myself within His holy will.’

No formal rite can bring the bliss I prove,
Than drowning in the nectar of His love.
