Compassion as core value of Buddhism: Poem
A gentle path, a way to be,
Not just in thought, but actively.
It looks within, it sees the mind,
The thoughts and feelings, all entwined.
It asks us how to live each day,
Compassion guiding what we say.
To harm no one, to help and share,
With loving thoughts and honest care.
It offers ways, like mindful breath,
To quiet storms, to conquer death
Of anger, fear, and restless strife,
And find true peace within this life.
A plan for living, clear and bright,
To walk in wisdom, with all our might.
For self and others, it's the key,
To live more fully, pious and free.
