BETTER BE AN INDEPENDENT SELF-KNOWER: A POEM
BETTER BE AN INDEPENDENT SELF-KNOWER: A POEM
Words Gurus give, in book and song,
A path they claim, righting wrong.
But grasp too tight, believe it all,
Gurus-disciples stumble, rise to fall.
The guru's pride, the follower's need,
A ladder built on fertile greed.
One climbs above, the other stays,
Lost in echoes of bygone days.
Instead, be still. Look deep inside.
Let self be guru, self be guide.
Observe the thoughts that rise and churn,
Without a judgment, lesson learned.
No follower, no guide to blame,
Just open eyes, a different game.
Your mind, the field, your heart, the seed,
Plant wisdom there, fulfill your creed.
