Thirtieth January Martyrs' Day Poem
Thirtieth January Martyrs' Day Poem
The thirtieth of January arrives,
A day of sacrificed lives.
For Gandhi, father of the land,
Met his fate by cruel hatred's hand.
Martyrs' Day, a time to pause,
For all who fought for freedom's cause.
They gave their all, with hearts so bold,
A story in our memories told.
Two minutes still, a nation waits,
In silent tribute at the gates
Of memory, where heroes sleep,
Whose promise we must try to keep.
Prayers rise up, a gentle sound,
From every faith on Indian ground.
A unity we strive to find,
Leaving no one behind.
Satya's truth and Ahimsa's way,
Guiding lights to this very day.
Principles of courage, clear and bright,
To banish darkness, bring the light.
Respect for all, a tapestry grand,
Woven together, hand in hand.
Justice, peace, and selfless grace,
To fill this land, a better place.
