Shri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Jayanti Message in Poem

According to the traditional Sikhi lunar calendar, Pausha month, Shukla Paksha, Saptami tithi, the festival of Guru Jayanti of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib is being observed on Saturday, 27 December.

A POEM INSPIRED BY WISDOM OF THE TENTH SIKH GURU

Dark thoughts like shadows creep,
Bad words and deeds, secrets keep.
These are evils, small and grand,
Leaving darkness in the land.

Ego, a giant, puffed with pride,
The biggest evil, deep inside.
It makes us see with judging eyes,
And cruelty in our heart arise.

Don't gossip tales, both false and grim,
No slanderous words, escaping whim.
Malign no one, let kindness grow,
And seeds of gentleness we sow.

Women are not things to own,
Or treated like a heartless stone.
Respect and love, their due reward,
A gift of life, profoundly stored.

Cleanse your mind with loving prayer,
Repeating names, with tender care.
Wash away the dark, the flawed,
Until purity's light is audibly applauded.
