Media, market and mimesis mix: A poem
Media, market and mimesis mix: A poem
Mimesis, a Greek name,
For copying, not quite the same.
Art and stories, its domain,
The world reflected, again, again.
A painter's brush, a scene takes hold,
Life's colors mirrored, brave and bold.
A writer's words, a tale unfolds,
Of human hearts, in stories told.
The world remade, a different view,
Mimesis helps us, see it new.
Now media's hum, a constant stream,
Social echoes, a mimetic dream.
We see, we want, it would seem,
To chase the same, a shared extreme.
The market calls, with siren song,
"Desire this! Where you belong!"
Mimesis shifts, it's more than art,
It shapes our wants, plays a new part.
The world we see, impacts the heart,
A copy's influence, right from the start.
