Philosophizing Engineering: A Poem
The blueprint spread, a clean white page,
A problem posed, in this modern age.
But more than specs and beams of steel,
A deeper quest the mind must feel.
Why build this bridge, this towering frame?
Beyond the profits, beyond the fame?
What lives it touches, good or ill?
Whose voice unheard, upon the hill?
The ethics guide, a whispered plea,
To honesty and integrity.
To safeguard lives, with mindful hand,
And serve the world, throughout the land.
Knowledge gained, from tests and trials,
But wisdom asks, beyond the styles.
What truths we hold, what values guide,
As progress marches, side by side.
Philosher engineers so keen,
Shape a sane world, yet to be seen.
