INACTION IS ALSO AN ACTION SUBJECTED TO LAW OF KARMA: A POEM
A body still, no outward stride you make,
Yet from the cosmic law, you cannot flee.
The soul's account, for every choice you take,
Is marked by what you are, or wish to be.
The glutted meal, the drug's enthralling chain,
And lazy comfort, quiet, slow decay,
Are just as much a source of bitter pain,
As outward acts that fill the busy day.
To still the hand but let the thoughts run wild,
To speak with malice, though the lips stay sealed,
Or lust in secret, like a vicious child,
Is darkest karma, silently revealed.
For every comfort used without a care,
The soul must answer to the balance there.
