HELL AND HEAVEN HAIKU

 

HELL AND HEAVEN HAIKU

A detached pure mind
with no cravings is heaven -
Blissful mental state

When through selfless deeds,
Enlightenment's state is won,
you create own heaven

hell and heaven are
Not future realms for soul to go,
they're your here and now

Lust, greed, and anger 
Ignorance of soulfulness
create hell in own mind

No fiery pit there
No golden gate high above,
but states of mind now

Yoga Day 2025 Theme: Yoga for One Earth, One Health

 The 11th edition of the UN proclaimed International Day of Yoga is going to be observed on June 21, 2025, with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”.  According to the UN the theme 'echoes a vital truth that personal wellness and planetary health are inseparably linked.' "Yoga strengthens the body, calms the mind and fosters a heightened sense of awareness and responsibility in daily life. This mindfulness allows one to choose healthier and more sustainable lifestyles. In caring for ourselves, we begin to care for the Earth, reflecting the enduring Indian ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world is one family," adds the UN.  Late Yoga guru B. K. S. Iyengar had once said, “Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day-to-day life and endows skill in the performance of one’s actions.”
