SIGNIFICANCE OF HARIYALI TEEJ: AN ABC POEM AND AN ABC POEM

The Hariyali Teej festival is celebrated with great piety and fervor and joy on the third day or tritiya tithi of Shukla Paksha in the Hindu  month of Sawan. This year the festival falls on July 27 to be celebrated by married women with worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and seek blessings for their husbands' longevity and well of children.

In temples the Mantra "Sarva Mangal Maangalyaye Shive Sarvartha Sadhike Sharanyaye Tiryambike Gauri Narayani Namostute!" is recited.

HERE IS AN ABC POEM ON HARIYALI TEEJ

A: Adoration and worship of Devi Parvati for marital bliss and well being of children
B: Bonding among women folks with fasting, processions and swinging
C: Chanting verses and singing songs for merry making with feasting
D: Dedicated to Parvati, commemorating her union with Shiva
E: Emphasises purification of body, senses and mind

Yoga Day 2025 Theme: Yoga for One Earth, One Health

 The 11th edition of the UN proclaimed International Day of Yoga is going to be observed on June 21, 2025, with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”.  According to the UN the theme 'echoes a vital truth that personal wellness and planetary health are inseparably linked.' "Yoga strengthens the body, calms the mind and fosters a heightened sense of awareness and responsibility in daily life. This mindfulness allows one to choose healthier and more sustainable lifestyles. In caring for ourselves, we begin to care for the Earth, reflecting the enduring Indian ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world is one family," adds the UN.  Late Yoga guru B. K. S. Iyengar had once said, “Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day-to-day life and endows skill in the performance of one’s actions.”
