Nowruz festival 2025 begins with a messahge of renewal and hope

The internet search engine giant Google celebrates Nowruz 2025 (March 20) - the Persian New Year - that stands for  renewal in nature at spring equinox and  family unions with deep roots in Zoroastrian traditions.

The message of Nowruz represents the victory of light over darkness through purification of consciousness for a fresh start  with hope, positivity and joy. The UN has  recognised Nowruz as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by declaring March 21 as International Nowruz Day.

In persian communities, Nowruz celebrations go on for 13 days with festivities and feasts and end with Sizdah Bedar to give away evils and sanctify one self and bring good fortune.

According to Lalit Kishore, Nowruz which is also called Navroz, is Persian festival signifies a fresh start in life by cleansing mind from evil thoughts, resolve for good deed, vising temple and do charity and seek forgiveness. The festival is also marked by typical feasts and get-together with exchange of ' Navroz Mubarak!'; 'Happy Pateti!' and 'Happy and Blessed Navroz!'

"Essentially, Navroz is a pagan pastoral event celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm and the celebrants wear new clothes along with caps and silver kurtis. The festivities on this day symbolize happiness, harmony and amity," he informs at an earlier post at wixsite.com.

Here is Lalit Kishore's sentence acrostic on NAVROZ that explains the underlying spiritual tenet of Zoroastrianism – the Persian spiritualism.

N: New beginning to rekindle the faith that
A: Ahura Mazda, Wise Lord or 'Illuminating Wisdom' is all good and nothing
V: Vile or no evil originates from Him and He will
R: Renovate the world to make it perfect
O: Once again as per
Z: Zoroastrianism that considers Ahura Mazda is the beginning and the end and cannot be seen, the Eternal, the Pure and the only Truth.
