When Action Becomes Lip Service Ceremony: A Limerick Critique of Women’s Day

When Action Becomes Lip Service Ceremony: A Limerick Critique of Women’s Day

Short Critique

There is a prevailing sentiment that leaders and rulers have turned Women's Day into a superficial and costly event or mere celebration and festivity. It is essential to address the genuine need for depth and seriousness, avoiding the squandering of public resources under the guise of equity, inclusion, and welfare. We should eliminate performative gestures and photo opportunities on Women's Day, and instead focus on substantial, impactful work in the community, rather than merely relying on grandiose hashtags.

Limericks

A Women's Day bash, grand and wide,
With leaders who puffed up with pride,.
Spent fortunes galore,
Then shut the same door,
On true needs, where real changes hide.

A hashtag on Women's Day bright,
Showed smiles in the digital light.
But real help's unseen,
Where changes convene,
Not just poses for fleeting delight.
