Persian Nowruz Festival: Know Zoroastrianism Spirituality in Brief
Nowruz, also known as Navroz, internationally observed on March 21, marks the New Year celebration for those who follow Zoroastrianism, a form of Persian spirituality. This festival honors the arrival of spring, the rebirth of nature, and celebrates the victory of light over darkness. It encourages individuals to let go of past burdens, practice forgiveness, reconcile differences, strengthen family ties, and promote harmony within the community.
The festival highlights the importance of personal renewal, filled with hope and goodwill, while embracing the beauty of new beginnings. Consequently, Nowruz motivates us to face the future with optimism, gratitude, and a renewed dedication to peace and prosperity for all of humanity.
Here is my sentence acrostic poem on NAVROZ that reflects the core spiritual principle of Zoroastrianism:
N: New beginnings to reignite the faith that
A: Ahura Mazda, the Wise Lord or 'Illuminating Wisdom', embodies all that is good and nothing
V: Vile or evil can come from Him, and He will
R: Renew the world to achieve perfection
O: Once more, in accordance with
Z: Zoroastrianism, which teaches that Ahura Mazda is both the beginning and the end, unseen, the Eternal, the Pure, and the ultimate Truth.
NAVROZ MUBARAK!
