Ode to Friction: A Poem
Ode to Friction: A Poem
Helpful friction, unseen and strong,
You keep us steady, all day long.
You let us walk, with grip and grace,
And hold us firmly in our place.
The paper takes the pencil's lead,
Because of you, the words are read.
The chalk marks plainly on the board,
Your touch allows each single word.
The brakes squeeze tight, the wheels slow down,
A car can stop in any town,
Because you hold, with mighty hand,
And keep us safe across the land.
When winter chills, and winds blow cold,
Our hands we rub, a story told.
Of heat you make, a warming spark,
A light that glows within the dark.
