Anger, ego, wants
connect to bring strife:
The Bhagavad Gita Inspired Poem
Bhagavad Gita Verse 2.63
क्रोधाद्भवति सम्मोहः सम्मोहात्स्मृतिविभ्रमः।
स्मृतिभ्रंशाद् बुद्धिनाशो बुद्धिनाशात्प्रणश्यति।
Meaning: We need to understand that from anger arises delusion caused by cravings and ego. Then delusion leads to the loss of memory, then destruction of intelligence occurs, and thereafter self-ruin is caused
Anger grips a mind, wild and
free,
Lacking control, it can't flee.
Wisdom is lost,
Whatever the cost,
A slave to bad temper we see!
Our ego, a selfish, small thing,
Wants all of the praise life can bring.
Anger flares bright,
Obscuring the light,
Untamed mind; its joy is a sting.
Make "me first" the mantra, you know.
A strong want, a puffed-up ego,
If anger takes hold,
Wisdom's story's untold,
Practice calmness, let balanced mind grow.
The mind, if suppressed,
gets quite sore,
And bounces right back for some more.
So just let things be,
With equanimity,
Then rise, and transcend evermore.
