'We ourselves must walk the path,' Buddha on Self-learning: A poem on Teacher's Day

'We ourselves must walk the path,' Buddha on Self-learning:
A poem on Teacher's Day

Learners older, wiser, near,
Inspiration glean, cast off all fear.
True hearts, accepting, kind,
Their caring, wisdom, leave behind.

Explore and learn, let process lead,
We've innate gift, plant the seed.
Trust your instincts, deep inside,
Let knowing bloom, your trusted guide.

Lean on yourself, stand strong and tall,
Enlightenment waits, beyond the wall.
Walk your own road, don't blindly tread,
Verify the path, before you're led.

Experience shapes, and thoughts take flight,
Think critically, find your own light.
More than belief, a reason why,
Individual effort, reaching high.

Life's a journey, learning too,
Walk it solo, strong and true.
Self-learn always, find your way,
Be your own light, each passing day.

Resources, a mind, a world to see,
Self-taught, that's the path for me.
