Onam message in poem

Live well, not for gain, but with a true heart,
With simple needs, let honesty be your guide.
Be fair to all, play an upright, caring part,
And kindness in your spirit shall reside.

Love trees and streams, the Earth's green, gentle grace,
Let go of pride, hold ego far away.
With open hand, a smile upon your face,
Live light and free, with just enough each day.

Care for your kin, and strangers you may meet,
Lend comfort, help, without a thought of pay.
Find joy in giving, make another's life sweet,
And sweep all selfish motives from your way.

For through such deeds, your soul will find its ease,
Serving mankind, brings ultimate release.
