AN UPINISHADIC APHORISM ON FINITE AND INSPIRED POEM

AN UPINISHADIC APHORISM ON FINITE AND INSPIRED POEM

UPINISHADIC APHORISM
न अल्पे सुखम् अस्ति
~छांदोग्य उपनिषद
Anything that is limited is woeful
~Chandogya Upanishad

INSPIRED POEM
Worldly knowledge, a limited play,
Our spoken thoughts, they gently fade,
The infinite dawns when words fade away.

Our knowing here, a fading ray,
By earthly wisdom often swayed,
Worldly knowledge, a limited play.

Don't let these concepts hold their sway,
Their simple lessons, gently laid,
The infinite dawns when words fade away.

Be not a slave to what they say,
For truth is not by words arrayed,
Worldly knowledge, a limited play.

When mind is still at close of day,
No longer by its thoughts betrayed,
The infinite dawns when words fade away.

Release the hold, let wisdom stray,
By silent wonder unafraid,
Worldly knowledge, a limited play,
The infinite dawns when words fade away.
