 HAIKU 

Physical body –
Embodies eternal soul –
Body’s gilded snare! 

Snare  of sensual joys -
Fleeting , transient, receding -
Endless futile chase!

 Ignorant of soul
‘N soul-realising purpose
We live gloomy life 

Wake up and strive for
Ending world-shaped ego-self
Work on self-denial!

 TANKA

Rise beyond mortal -
Body-senses’  gilded snare –
To realise your soul
Be minimal and frugal
To live true soulful life

 The 11th edition of the UN proclaimed International Day of Yoga is going to be observed on June 21, 2025, with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”.  According to the UN the theme 'echoes a vital truth that personal wellness and planetary health are inseparably linked.' "Yoga strengthens the body, calms the mind and fosters a heightened sense of awareness and responsibility in daily life. This mindfulness allows one to choose healthier and more sustainable lifestyles. In caring for ourselves, we begin to care for the Earth, reflecting the enduring Indian ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world is one family," adds the UN.  Late Yoga guru B. K. S. Iyengar had once said, “Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day-to-day life and endows skill in the performance of one’s actions.”
