Do your duty, with all your might.

The joy's  within, gold and bright

STANZAS AND REFRAIN

If tasks you face, and must begin,

Then give your all, let effort win.

Do it for the task's own grace,

Not for praise, gain, fame or place.

Do your duty..... 

Forget about the win 'n the loss,

The worthy work, a gift you give,

Must work for joy, not for reward

And in the doing, you truly live

Do your duty....

Do your best, let effort shine,

The outcome's hidden, far away.

A worthy deed, a truth divine,

Let go of what the results say.

Do your duty...

It's all about performing,

Let go outcomes, to let it be,

The try alone'll set you free,

The path to purpose then will be,

Do your duty...

Just give your all, soulfully true,

Forget the prize, the hoped-for gain.

The joy's in what you strive to do,

Let God's grace fall like gentle rain.
