INDIAN STEM EDUCATORS WIN TWO OF THE FIVE COMMOMWEALTH AWARDS IN 2024

 

Indian STEM educators, Dr Lalit Kishore and Subhash Chauhan, et al. , have won the the Findel CASTME Commonwealth Awards for the year 2024 for innovative STEM Education Projects. While the other three awards have  gone to the educators one each from Malaysia, United Kingdom and Antigua – island country in Caribbean . It needs to be mentioned that Dr Kishore has won the awards for his individual entry as well as a member of the team entry with Subhash Chauhan.


The tiles of the award winning entries are as follows 

1. Creating and Linking Forest Garden Complementary Curriculum to Environmental Science Curriculum and Vocational Modules on Skills of Forestry, Agriculture and Culinary at Middle School Level: Heightening Awareness to Climate Change and Sustainable Development (FINDEL CASTME Education Award, Som Gurukul School, Kurukshetra, Haryana, India)          

2. Initiating Pre-School Kids into Talking Science by Displaying and Demonstrating Sensory Development Activities at Annual Science Exhibition by Senior Students (FINDEL CASTME Community Award: Communicating Everyday Science, Senior Secondary Girls Adarsh Vidya Mandir School, Jaipur, India) 

3. How Does climate Change Affect Ocean Ecosystems and What Can We Do To Mitigate These Effects? (FINDEL CASTME Protect Our Planet Award, Beaconhouse International School, Selangor, Malaysia)           

4. Annual Science Week and Learning Showcase (FINDEL CASTME Community Award, The Pines School, Bracknell, Berkshire, England, UK) 

5. STEM Walk Literacy Boost, Mindful Moments (STEM & Literacy Award Certificate 2024, Jennings Primary School, Antigua)

  C'Wealth Award for Dr Kishore for math education innovation at girls' school of Vidya Bharati in Jaipur The Annual Conference of Association of Science Education (ASE)-2024 was held at the University of Northampton's Waterside Campus in January, from the 4th to the 6th inclusive, informed the organizers. The UK's largest gathering of science educators from across the education spectrum witnessed more than 250 sessions with keynotes, speakers and workshops.  There was also an exhibition of science education organisations, social events and a special schools exhibition for local schools to showcase science projects. Project on making pre-primary children to talk science: Indian Commonwealth Award Entry for 2024
