"Girls’ vision for the future" is the theme of International Day of the Girl Child-2024

The UN declared International Day of the Girl Child is observed each year on October 11 to recognize girls' rights and empower them through global action for their inclusive and equitable future. The theme of the observance in 2024 is ‘Girls’ vision for the future’ urging for action driven by 'the power of girls’ voices and vision for the future.'

According to the UN. today’s generation of girls is disproportionately affected by global crises of climate, conflict, poverty and pushback on hard won gains for human rights and gender equality by listen to and respond to their needs

"With the right support, resources and opportunities, the potential of the world’s more than 1.1 billion girls is limitless. And when girls lead, the impact is immediate and wide reaching: families, communities and economies are all stronger, our future brighter." informs the UN saying that was a need to take action by the world community for gender equality, education, healthcare, and other areas where girls face inequalities.

The UN has urged that the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are to be attended to since they 'embody a roadmap for progress that is sustainable and leaves no one behind.'

Last year, the UNWomen had urged the world community to ensure that girls play their full part in the digital generation to design and secure our common future. (https://lalitculp.wixsite.com/website/post/digital-generation-our-generation-theme-of-international-day-of-the-girl-child)
