ADAPTED LULLABY
Hush-a-bye, close your eyes
Go to sleep, cradle I prise
I rock the cradle for thee
Dear baby calm is the sea
Sleep ‘n peace’ll attend thee
***
Drowsy hours are now creeping,
Hill and dale in slumber sleeping
Rock-a-bye baby on the treetops.
When the wind blows, the cradle will rock.
Hush-a-bye, close your eyes
Go to sleep, cradle I prise
***
Your mother shakes the dreamland tree
And from it fall sweet dreams for thee
Guardian angels the night will send thee,
All through the night, Sleep, baby, sleep
Hush-a-bye, close your eyes
Go to sleep, cradle I prise
***
When you wake, you shall have
All the pretty little horses
Dapples and greys, blacks and bays
All the pretty little horses
Hush-a-bye, close your eyes
Go to sleep, cradle I prise
***
All through the night
Sleep, dear baby sleep.
Hush-a-bye, close your eyes
Go to sleep, cradle I prise
