Future education belongs to STEAM courses, credits system of assessment and open-web examinations
My research work on competency based education and mastery learning strategy in Physics instruction done in the 1980s and published the CENBOSEC (Journal of Central Board of Education), University News, PTA Magazine, Pathways, School Science, Primary Teacher, Educational Review, Progress in Education and Indian Education Review indicated that the future belonged to STEAM education and mastery learning based credits system of assessment with emphasis on self-study shills and information processing and higher order thinking skills .
The shift towards integrated and multidisciplinary courses right at the school level is the indication of the trend of digital technology based learning, on-line open-web and open-book examinations to earn credits to qualify and get certified.
