International Gita Seminar 2024 to be held in December at Kurukshetra

 

In 2024, Gita Jayanti- auspicious day of the advent of Srimad Bhagavad Gita- is to be observed on 11 December. International Gita Seminar is held every year on Gita Jayanti at Kurukshetra university for the last 8 years. The 9th edition of the seminar is going to be held in December 2024. The papers from the researchers in various fields drawing the inspiration from the philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita on various themes get invited for presentation. According the seminar organizers, the event is supported by the Government of Haryana and outcomes of discussions would provide new ideas and way forward for developing Kurukshetra as a land of Bhagavad Gita.

Besides the plenary session and multidisciplinary poster presentation, parallel technical sessions are held in various institutes and departments on the university campus. The 12 technical sessions on various themes are held at Departments of Commerce; Tourism and Hotel Management; Music and Dance; Sanskrit, Pali & Prakrit; Physical Education; Social Work; Home Science; as well at the Institutes of Management Studies; Sanskrit & Indological Studies; Engineering and Technology; Integrated and Honours Studies; Dr. B R Ambedker Studies Centre.

Various themes are related the concepts of global unity, ethics, value system, peace, wellness, social harmony, historicity, yoga, empowerment, selfless service, sustainability, management excellence, etc.  For further details one should keep on checking the conference website. The seminar is open to academicians, Researchers, Scholars, Writers, Thinkers, industry experts and Students

Papers on the suggested themes or related themes can be submitted by early December. Full papers shall be 3000-5000 words shall include name(s) of author(s), affiliation, postal and email address. Papers can be written in English/Hindi/ Sanskrit as original research with no plagiarism. Full papers will be given an opportunity for presentation in the respective Technical Sessions.

Guidelines for Poster Presentation

  • All the participants are requested to prepare their posters that should not exceed the dimensions of 25” x 40” 1.0 × 1.5 m (length × width)
  • Use a single portrait sheet for the poster.
  • Font Size: Title- 86pt, Authors-50pt, Subheading-36pt, Text-24 pt, Caption-18pt
  • The poster must include the title, Author's Name, Affiliation, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion.
  • Clear pictures, diagrams, graphs, and short tables are highly encouraged to use.
  • The designated poster presenter (author or coauthor) must be present at the assigned space during the designated time to discuss the work presented.

Best Paper Award/s are given for the presentations made in each of the Technical Sessions. Presenters should have submitted their full papers before the closing dates and made the presentation in the Technical Session to be eligible for the award. 

For poster presentations, up to 3 posters and presentations will be considered for the Best Paper Award. The abstracts should be received as per guidelines before the closing date. The presenter will have to be present to explain the gist of their poster before the Evaluation Committee. Best Paper Awardees will be presented a Certificate at the time of the Valedictory Ceremony.
