 COMMONWEALTH FINDEL-CASTME AWARD WINNERS 2023: TWO OF FIVE AWARDS BAGGED BY INDIAN EDUCATORS CAROL SINGH AND LALIT KISHORE 

The list of the five Commonwealth Findel-CASTME Award winners for the year 2023 has been made public by CASTME e-Newsletter No.23 circulated on 15 April, 2024

The two of the five awards have been bagged by Indian educators,; Carol Singh and Dr Lalit Kishore, for their innovative projects in STEM awareness and education as well as the projects related sustainable development issues. The other recipients of the awards are from Malta, Nigeria and Antigua - one each of the three countries.

The list and details of the award winning project-entries are as follows.


1. Entry title: The Tetara Debi Academy, a small primary school in rural NE India

  • Submitted by: Carol Singh (India)
  •  Awarded Institution: The Tetara Debi Academy


2. Entry title: The Science TICTAC Summer Science Programme (designed for young minds age       4 to 11 years)

  • Designed and delivered by: Dr Daniela Cassola; Submitted by Marie Demicoli Hon. General Secretary for Doreen Borg Zammit, President (Malta)
  •  Awarded organization: The National Council of Women Malta 


3. Entry title :An Innovative Approach to Increasing STEM Awareness 

  •  Submitted by:Prof. Ibiyinka Ogunlade (Nigeria)
  •  Submitting organization: Children-in- Science & Technology (CIST) Ekiti State Nigeria


4. Entry title: Not Mentioned (Project is related STEM awareness in community)

  •  Submitted by: Sandy P. George (Antigua)
  •   Awarded Institution: The Infant Pedagogic Centre Antigua 


5. Entry title :Intervening to feminize senior school mathematics with STEAM and daily life connections

  •   Submitted by: Dr Lalit Kishore (India)
  •    Awarded Institution : Senior Secondary Girls Adarsh Vidya Mandir School, JJC-3,Jaipur,
