Tibetan Buddhism follows Vajrayana School of Mahayana Sect

The Tibetan Mahayana Buddhist sect follows esoteric-rituals path of Buddhism and its Vajrayana sect is more popular among the followers..  It is also known as the Diamond Way or Thunderbolt Way of life  with the practices evolved over several centuries to attain Bodhisattva or enlightened state of being.

According to scriptures, Buddhism was brought to Tibet from India  during the reign of the Dharma King Trisong Detsen in the 8th Century and it got contextualized as Vajrayana Buddhism in Tibet.

Vajrayana  Buddhism emphasises the advanced meditation practices to experience the empty nature on mind or non-mind state for perceiving ultimate truth. In other words, all meditative practices must lead to purifying the impure perceptions to allow ultimate Truth to be realized.. It urges seekers three ritual implements: vajra, bell, and counting beads during meditative practices

Some important meditative practices are  the Yogatantra, Guru Yoga,  Deity Yoga, Nuttarayogatantra, Kundalini Yoga, Death Yoga  and Non-Dual  Mahamudra Tantra to realize the inherent emptiness (shunyata).of everything that exist.

It is believed that Death Yoga meditation  diminishes dualistic appearances and ultimately  realise the emptiness to destroy the ignorance  of the practitioner.

Meditation may be done by in the presence representation of deity such as statues or pictures, paintings (thangka), or mandala to aid visualization and creating and gestures (mudras) and chanting to create a special environment for practice.

However, the core Tibetan Buddhism belief:is that one's mind  can  be purified to attain non-mind state to become the  Buddha Mind by following the eight-fold path preached by the Buddha.
