National Science Day is observed each year on February 28 since 1987 with a theme. The theme for National Science Day 2024 is 'Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat' The observance commemorates the discovery of Raman Effect along with appreciating the contributions of our scientific community. Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for  his work on scattering of light in 1930.

I recall my ‘National Award for Science Popularization among Children’ being conferred at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi in 1989 by then Prime Minister VP Singh.  At that time, I was working as Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya-2, NFL, Bathinda.

A set of 20 films was made on my work by the NCERT at its Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET). I was deemed as a major contributor to science education by a book on Indian Science.

Also, the NCSTC of Department of  Science and Technology, published a book with me as lead author and the Punjab State Department of  Science and Technology, published 4 books in Punjabi.

My name has  been mentioned in the book "The Saga of Indian Science since Independence in a Nutshell" for my contribution in science education and efforts for science popularisation

 Vidya Bharati Run Girls School in Jaipur Receives Commonwealth Award for Maths Project Led by Dr Lalit Kishore Association for Science Education (ASE) 2024 Annual Conference was held from 4th to 6th January at the University of Northampton's Waterside Campus in the United Kingdom. The ASE Conference Technicians day (5th January) was officially sponsored by Philip Harris, part of the Findel Group. The Commonwealth Association of Science, Technology and Mathematics Educators (CASTME) partnered with Findel International Education Resources and Philip Harris to sponsor awards.   C'Wealth Award for Dr Kishore for math education innovation at girls' school of Vidya Bharati in Jaipur The Annual Conference of Association of Science Education (ASE)-2024 was held at the University of Northampton's Waterside Campus in January, from the 4th to the 6th inclusive, informed the organizers. The UK's largest gathering of science educators from across the education spectrum witnessed more than 250 sessions with keynotes, speakers and workshops.  There was also an exhibition of science education organisations, social events and a special schools exhibition for local schools to showcase science projects.
