 C'Wealth Award for Dr Kishore for math education innovation at girls' school of Vidya Bharati in Jaipur

The Annual Conference of Association of Science Education (ASE)-2024 was held at the University of Northampton's Waterside Campus in January, from the 4th to the 6th inclusive, informed the organizers. The UK's largest gathering of science educators from across the education spectrum witnessed more than 250 sessions with keynotes, speakers and workshops. 

There was also an exhibition of science education organisations, social events and a special schools exhibition for local schools to showcase science projects. There were sessions focused on primary and secondary science teaching running across all three days, add the organizers. The emphasis was on professional development of science educators, teachers, researchers and technicians The concluding day focused on Research sessions and hosted the Schools Exhibition where teachers and their students talked about school projects with posters or artefacts. 

The ASE 2024 Annual Conference had the sponsors like AQA; Philip Harris, part of the Findel Group, Gatsby Charitable Foundation; Oxford University Press; VITTA Group and Royal Society of Chemistry. Findel Group also sponsors the Findel-CASTME Award Scheme in which the science educators at various levels from over 50 C'Wealth countries participate.

This blogger, Dr Lalit Kishore's project "INTERVENING TO FEMINIZE SENIOR SCHOOL MATHEMATICS WITH STEAM AND DAILY LIFE CONNECTIONS" done at Senior Secondary Balika Vidya Mandir, Jaipur (Jai Jawan Colony-3), Rajasthan, India, won the award for innovation in math education through female-friendly topic readiness sheets for grade ten girls that emphasized listening, speaking and reading aspects of the subject in whole class, small group and individual settings.

According to CASTME, awards are offered for educational projects, which address the social or human context of science, technology and mathematics. Anyone involved in any form of education in the widest senses, formal or informal or societies and communities, can enter, Primary, pre school, secondary or tertiary education project a year as an individual or as a group, school or out of school. There are three categories of the awards, namely, The Findel CASTME Education Award, The Findel CASTME Protect Our Planet Award, and The Findel CASTME Community Award.  

The award announcement is done the ASE conference, and the work is displayed in various science education conferences in the exhibition section by the sponsers.
